Steps to reproduce

On Windows Insider Preview build 17738.1000 desktop bridge win32 application cannot connect to UWP companion app. AppServiceConnection::openAsync call returns AppServiceConnectionStatus::Unknown status with no connection established. It works fine on official 17134.228 build.

You can reproduce this issue on any Edge extension with win32 desktop bridge. I attached simple extension you can use to test it(appx/certificate/source code in attachments).

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Add certificate to trusted
  2. Install appx
  3. Start Edge
  4. On start extension will open win32 console window with messages about connection status

Expected result:
Connection is established and AppServiceConnection::openAsync returns AppServiceConnectionStatus::Success. Win32 console window from attached extension has “Successfully opened connection.” line

Actual result:
Connection is not established and AppServiceConnection::openAsync returns AppServiceConnectionStatus::Unknown, win32 console window has “Unknown error” message
